Clip In Hair Installation

Clip-in or clip-on hair extensions are a great addition to make your hair feel fuller and look more voluminous easily overnight. One of the quickest and easiest ways to add a bit of flair to any hairstyles are clip-ins as they, as the name suggest, can clip on or off when needed. These type of extensions are perfect for short term wearing, great for slipping them into your hair prior to a glamorous night out, weddings, or virtually any occasion.

Clip ins are convenient for many due to the ease of install. Any person can attach clip-ins without having to make an appointment with the hairdresser and pay for the service.

Below is our recommendation process for installing your clip ins, each hair style is different depending on if you have long hair or short hair, thick or thin hair, and how you want to style your hair whether it be highlights or simply adding length and volume.

Part Your Natural Hair

Prior to install, use your fingers or a tall comb to separate the area of your hair where the clips would be placed.

Hair extension clip-ons usually come in a variety of sizes. the longest piece usually goes behind the scalp, where as the shorter lengths are for the sides of your hair. Depending on the construction of the clip-in weft, it is possible to cut the weft areas to have a better fit for you.

Apply Extensions to Desired Location

Select the specific piece needed to measure and line up near the separated area of hair. Insert the clips at the preferred location, and close the clips to secure the piece with the hair.

Secure Clip-Ins to Natural Hair

After securing the clips, gently move hair over the area to help blend the strands. Use a comb to blend your natural hair over the extension clips. Each clip makes a little snap to hold your hair securely in place.

Blend Your Natural Hair

Release the top section of your hair to cover the extension. As you build layers of hair, remember to blend as best as possible. The goal is to have natural looking hair as much as possible without creating any unusual bumps in your hair line.

Apply The Remaining Pieces

Repeat the steps for as many clip on extensions that you want to add, make sure that you leave enough hair on the top section of your hair to cover the previous extensions.

Ensure Extensions are a Good Fit

Double check your installation with a few good tugs, you want your clips to be very secure and tight.
